This is a page dedicated to news and stories of the establishment of ‘Farm Sanctuary’ for farm animals that have managed to survive in the Fukushima nuclear no-go zone. In the beginning of May 2011, the Japanese government announced that all farm animals are to be euthanized for fear that they were polluted with radiation. While culling started slowly, there are still many roaming in the area today (as of June 13, 2011).
LIVE CAMERA: We can now see those cows that are enjoying their lives (for now…) roaming freely on the pasture at: http://fukushima-farmsanctuary.blogzine.jp/blog/2011/08/post_82ec.html
One good news I want to share now (June 13) is that an organization dedicated to the farm sanctuary has already opened a bank account and some people are sending in donations.
